Finally...

Well here it is, my first post. As I was working on the Stats homework I recalled the blog, so here I am. I also wanted to let you know that this week I will go to the class on Wednesday instead of Saturday, due to a trip to Lubbock, TX. Also, I wanted to add that the Cowboys looked awful last nite. I don't think Romo is any good, but Bledsoe's benching on national TV, was the end for him.

What Makes 100%?

What does it mean to give MORE than 100%?

Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%?
We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 103%?

What makes up 100% in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:

If: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z is represented
as: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.

Then: H-A-R-D-W-O-R- K is 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%
And K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E is 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%
But A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E is 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
And B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T is 2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103%
AND look how far ass-kissing will take you.

I am pretty sure there are no more remaining brain cells

Between the happy hours and the late nights of studying, I firmly believe the SMU Cox MBA program is responsible for the reduction of significant amounts of my brain cells. I am currently sitting in my cube drinking the first of 2 red bulls that I have brought from home. After spending 3 months in rehab trying to kick my old red bull habit, I am fairly certain that I will be addicted to the juice again. My only comfort is knowing that in less than 12 hours, it will all be over one way or another. I am sad to say that most likely I will be unable to partake in the enjoyment of adult beverages after the final tonight as I am required to be back at SMU at the bright and early time of 6:15 tomorrow morning. I have noticed that Lunchbox and Jose have both said yes, and I am sad that I will miss out on the opportunity to raise a cold glass in celebration of the end of Mod A as well as the Cardinals victory over the Mets that I am certain will ensue. My only hope is that Lunchbox has received a 2-day pass from Carol allowing him to go tomorrow as well (where I will be refreshed enough to make a showing) and that Corky has managed to figure out how the Evite thing even works so he knows where to go in the first place. The likelihood of Corky making it tomorrow is about the same as the Mets winning this playoff series, but even I and the fans of New York can hope for those long shot miracles. Well Peruna Tonic, we are on the home stretch of Mod A and I wish good luck to us all. We rock and I know we will continue to be the best group that SMU has ever seen!!! See you all tonight!

Back to the Basics....Communication!!!




Does anybody know how to say..." I Want to Kick Your A$$!!!" in Chinese?? I have emailed this guy multiple times telling him I do not understand his emails. I even included some cursing words in my last email in hopes that he would recognize them and stop emailing. Obviously he is having the same problem. Good luck with finals!!!!

Let's do it!!

Hey all, I wanted to let you know that I booked rooms for this weekend at Collins. Fri-6:30-9; Sat-1-5; and Sun-3-9. I reserved our awesome pool view penthouse suite known as 308. Feel free to stop by anytime and share in the love that is accounting and economics. If you want, you can let me know what specific areas you would like to cover and I can try to coordinate some kind of study schedule, i.e., econ chapter 2&3 Friday night, or if that is too anal retentive for you, we can make it a free for all. It doesn't matter to me; all I know is I am studying until I can do this stuff in my sleep. I am hoping that will not result in accounting nightmares, but it's possible.

BTW Lunchbox, can I give you a different photo than my current MBA one to post on the site?

I took the blue pill...

Well, I am officially plugged into the Matrix that is the Peruna Tonic Blog and can't wait to chronical our team's adventures through this first PMBA year.

After class on saturday, I felt a sense of releif of having put the quiz behind me. I think I did well, which means I either aced it or I bombed the hell out of it. I guess if I had to put a line on it, it would be Pick 'em. Like Dub, I was greeted with the pleasant slap in the face of having to put together a direct method SoCF. Frikkin' great. After cranking throught the T-accounts - and I can't wait until we put these behind us - I put the direct statement together, and as luck would have it, it didn't match the indirect one. After lawyering up the numbers a little bit (that means playing around with them until I get a result that looks right), I realized I hadn't added in inventory purchases to the Investment section. Voila, a balanced SoCF. Hope this rag tag magic works...

On a non school-related topic, I have had some MAJOR back problems this weekend. I barely slept saturday night and could not get out of a prone position this morining without some serious pain. That sucked. Other than that, my Aggies got ass-punched by the fuckin red raiders yesterday, the 'Boys took the wood to the Titans, and the Bears look like they have 12 men on the field when on defense. Wow.
